About Botonics Medicine Diploma Program
Join the Botanical Diploma Course and you’ll learn about the world’s plant life from the inside out, past and present, from mushrooms to flowers from the highest mountains to the lowest deserts. You will understand all plants a little better.
You will learn about gross and microscopic plant anatomy, plant physiology, the family or genus to which plants belong, how they are taxonomically organized and their metabolic processes. You will even follow their evolution from water to land and discover how they have adapted to their different environments.
The Botanical Diploma Course starts by looking at plant evolution and adaptation, a process that will introduce you to some of the most exciting plant species, including carnivorous plants (which can live closer to you than you think!).
From there, we’ll dive straight into plants, as we think about them at the microscopic level. By exploring the different cells that make up various types of plant tissue, you will become familiar with the plant growth process.
You will learn the rough anatomy of plants by looking at plant parts that we can see with the naked eye. You discover facts about the foods you eat and think more deeply about how people use each different plant part. We will also explore plant physiology as we take a closer look at processes such as photosynthesis and respiration and how water and sugars move in plants.
The Botanical Diploma Course shows you the classification systems used to organize the huge plant kingdom. We explore Kingdom Protista and lichen and learn about mushrooms including what mushrooms are and a look at edible, poisonous and psychotropic mushrooms. As you study bryophytes and ferns, you’ll also discover some of our oldest land plants.
You will meet gymnosperms it will help you learn more about conifers. You will also discover how they reproduce and how people rely on them for more than wood.
The course concludes with an explosion of color, scent and ingenious pollination adaptations as we explore the angiosperms, which are flowering plants.
